One of Kai's favorite places is the playground near our house, and today was a perfect day to be outside. The thermometer read in the upper 60's, and the sky was an empty blue canvas. He has figured out exactly climb up to the slide, where we ride down together. He absolutely loves it.

Today he picked up a bunch of wild violet-colored flowers off of the ground and tried to put them back on the bush from where they came. It was the sweetest thing ever. And he actually sat on the ground and played with the dirt for quite awhile. In our hyper-sterilized world, I think it's more important than ever to get out there and dip your fingers in the soul of the earth.
